2010 NFL Predictions- Week 14

Last week was another week in futility with a 10-6 record straight up and 6-10 record ATS. 107-85 and 86-106 on the year.

TITANS (+2.5) over Colts- Tough to call because the Titans have put up better numbers, but at the same time are playing beyond awful the last few weeks. Colts are desperate but it may not be enough. Titans 24 Colts 23

Raiders (+4.5) over JAGUARS- Very close matchup between the two that should favor the Jaguars, but not by 5 points. The one worry I would have with simply taking the Raiders and the points is that they have a habit of just no showing away from home at time. Jaguars 23 Raider 19

Browns (+1.5) over BILLS- You have to wonder if the blowout last week was a hangover for the Bills or a sign of things to come. Cleveland is the better team and has played better football this season. They are aiming for 8-8 and should get one of those wins this week. Browns 19 Bills 16

STEELERS (-9.5) over Bengals- It is possible that Pittsburgh could take this game lightly after taking control of the division, but I think they are still looking to return the favor to the Benagls by pulling off the sweep in 2010, as Cincy did in 2009. Steelers 27 Bengals 14

Falcons (-7.5) over PANTHERS- Carolina is losing at home by about 16 points a game. Unless Atlanta rolls over and plays dead there is no way they can lose this game. Falcons 27 Panthers 10

Giants (-3.5) over VIKINGS- New York is starting to get healthy while the Vikings are now dealing with answering questions about Brett Favre’s consecutive start streak. Giants desperately need the win to stay with the Eagles. Giants 26 Vikings 20

LIONS (+6.5) over Packers- Detroit will still give it a try every week while the Packers have shown a propensity to stumble on the road from time to time. Unless the Packer offense begins to play better away from home this will be a tough cover. Packers 24 Lions 20

Buccaneers (-2.5) over REDSKINS- Washington is in a terrible tailspin right now as the honeymoon between Mike Shannahan and the Redskin fan base is over. The Redskins look like a team that needs to blow up and start over. Buccaneers 23 Redskins 17

49’ERS (-4.5) over Seahawks- Amazingly the 49ers are not yet dead in the West. Seattle should be after this one. 49’ers 23 Seahawks 13

SAINTS (-8.5) over Rams- Big test for both teams. Saints want to show some dominance at home while the Rams want to prove they are much improved against a good NFL team. The Rams have played some tight games on the road before the rookie QB usually makes one mistake to cost them a chance. Saints 26 Rams 17

Broncos (-3.5) over CARDINALS- Well at least Denvers new coach should be guaranteed one victory. Cardinals are pathetic. Makes you realize just how great Kurt Warner really was. Broncos 28 Cardinals 17

CHARGERS (-6.5) over Chiefs- Chargers got caught looking ahead last week. That will not happen here in a critical AFC west matchup. A loss by San Diego gives them almost no shot at the playoffs. Chargers 33 Chiefs 19

Patriots (-3.5) over BEARS- Chicago is improving but they do not have the firepower to win this kind of game. Patriots 28 Bears 20

Dolphins (+6.5) over JETS- Miami is excellent on the road and the Jets almost always let teams stay in the games. There is no reason to think this should be any different. Jets 13 Dolphins 10

Eagles (-3.5) over COWBOYS- Expect a lot of fireworks in this one in what might be one of the most explosive games of the year. Eagles are the better and deeper team regardless of how “hot” the Cowboys seem to be. Eagles 41 Cowboys 31

Ravens (-3.5) over TEXANS- How much did last weeks loss affect the Ravens? That is really the big question here as they take on a Texans team that has to know that their coach is finished. Ravens 20 Texans 14
