NFL Predictions- Week 3

Busy week so this is up pretty late. 11-5 last week and 9-7 ATS. Yearly record is 21-11 and 17-15. Ill use my efficiency ratings starting in week 4 for predictions, but well still wing it for now….

Patriots (-8.5) over BILLS- Bills get welcomed to reality this week. The nearly got blow out by Oakland in the first half, what happens when they face the Patriots? Patriots 42 Bills 21

TITANS (-6.5) over Broncos- Titans with a shocker last week which has maybe inflated the line a bit, but the Broncos are awful. Chris Johnson should break out after a slow start to the season. Titans 24 Broncos 10

VIKINGS (+3.5) over Lions- Detroit sure looks like the better team, but Ill take a desperate home team over an unproven one. Not sure how Minnesota blew the game last week, but another two losses and McNabb’s career will come to an end. Vikings 24 Lions 20

SAINTS (-3.5) over Texans- Big step up in class this week for Houston and a real measuring stick game. Saints offense will be too much for the Houston defense, but a game that will likely be all over the Red Zone channel. Saints 34 Texans 27

Giants (+7.5) over EAGLES- I cant see NY winning, but I cant see the Eagles covering. These games always seem to be close. Eagles 24 Giants 20

BROWNS(-2.5) over Dolphins- Tough game to call, but Miami is cracking apart in the locker room and this is the Browns big opportunity for a home win to get above 500. Browns 20 Dolphins 10

PANTHERS (-3.5) over Jaguars- Another difficult one as the Panthers now have to prove they can put up all these yards as a favorite rather than an underdog. Jaguars looked so bad last week I just cant see myself picking them unless they show something. Panthers 29 Jaguars 10

BENGALS (-2.5) over 49’ers- Alex Smith is so bad and the coach plays as if he believes that as well. I really don’t like the Bengals but they can make enough big plays to beat a team with no QB. Bengals 17 49’ers 13

Jets (-3.5) over Raiders- Just the thought of losing to the Raiders makes me sick. Jets 27 Raiders 13

Chiefs (+14.5) over CHARGERS- Can the Chiefs be this bad in a divisional game? I hope not. Chargers 28 Chiefs 16

Ravens (-4.5) over RAMS- Baltimore slept through last weeks game and wont let that happen again. Rams have such a rough schedule to start that you have to feel bad for them. Ravens 27 Rams 13

SEAHAWKS (+3.5) over Cardinals- If Seattle cant use their home opening crowd to beat Arizona after the Cards come off a heartbreaker Im not sure who Seattle can beat. Seattle 17 Cardinals 14

BEARS (+3.5) over Packers- If the Bears can keep Jay Cutler upright they have a chance to win outright, but that is no easy task. Packers defense looks to be a far cry from the defense of a year ago which was the real reason they went to the Super Bowl. Bears 24 Packers 21 BUCCANEERS (-1.5) over Falcons- Revenge game for the Bucs and I just don’t care for Atlanta away from home. Buccaneers cant lie down for three quarters the way they have the last two weeks, though, and expect to win. Buccaneers 24 Falcons 17

COLTS (+10.5) over Steelers- Indianapolis does have players with enough pride to keep this within 10. The Steelers rarely play far above the level of an inferior opponent on the road. NBC should have been allowed to switch this game from prime time though as it just screams boring. Steelers 19 Colts 10

COWBOYS (-6.5) over Redskins- Always fun games and the spread seems a bit high, but Dallas seems due for an offensive explosion while Rex Grossman has to show that he can play well late away from home. Cowboys 34 Redskins 17
